Step #2 Prime roof with rust prohibiting primer. 
Step #3 Seal in all metal edges at gutter or missing closure strips. 
Step #4 Reinforce All vertical & horizontal seams with caulk. 
Step #5 Caulk all fastener heads, intrusions, and vents.
